I am purchasing a 32" flat panel LCD TV and patch my pc into it. What type of video card is needed ?

Is there any LCD TV better than another for running with a pc and is it possible to run an HDMI from PC to LCD?|||Yes

http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/972/three_hdmi_graphics_cards_tested_on_lcd_tv/|||Don't use a TV as a computer monitor unless the computer will be solely used as a media center. A TV does NOT make an acceptable computer monitor.

HDMI is basically just DVI with audio. There are adapters, but the TV will likely have DVI in anyway so you could just use that.|||I know Geforce 8000 series have hi-def capabilities not sure about conection maybe dvi and sound in out of the question|||I have done something similar. As far as I know there is not HDMI graphics cards and if there is they are mostly likely expensive.

What I have done is get a graphics card that has both DVI and VGA outputs so I can use it for multiple reasons and also dual screen. I purchased a DVI to HDMI cable to connect from computer to TV. The price for the cable varies. Cheap ones will work fine. Length of cable is something you should consider. I found a good 12 foot cable (I'm plugging it into a big screen). There are a lot of 4-6 foot ones out there too. Good Luck

Which is the better Graphics Card for a (HTPC) Home Theater PC - ATI Radeon 5570HD or GeForce GT 430?

Hi to everyone and thanks in advance for taking the time to view and hopefully answer my question.

Ok I have almost finished building a basic PC to be used in our lounge as a Home Theater PC (HTPC), and the last piece of hardware I need is a Graphics card that can handle HD video and Blu Rays, nothing fancy it won't be used for any type of gaming, just surfing the web, downloading movies and play full HD videos.

The 2 cards I am looking at are low budget cards but they are both highly recommended for HTPC's and they are very similar in spec and price!

They are:

Asus GeForce GT 430 700MHz 1GB =

http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-geforc…

- and -

Asus ATI Radeon 5570 HD 1GB =

http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-ati-ra…

So my question is simple, which would you say is the better card for a HTPC??? Please let me know if your answer is based on reviews or if its based on your actual experience of using them.

Thanks everyone|||Nvidia GT430 is undoubtly the best Graphic Card. It very easily outperforms Ati 5570. I would certainly go with the GT430. I also have one and it performs exceptionally well. Go with it and enjoy your multimedia world. Its absolutely superb.|||Asus GeForce GT 430 700MHz 1 GB is the better Graphics Card for a (HTPC) Home Theater pc|||oh sorry I guess i didnt read the question right :P

Video card for computer?

Here is the video card I want to get for this computer...The computer is a friends and I just want to put a video card in it so that they can hook the PC up to their HDTV, to watch video or whatever.

It is a Compaq 4400US Mobo.

Now if anyone has any better suggestions, please I would like to hear them. I just want to know if this card will work. They don't play games or anything, I just want to be able to hook the PC up to their TV via, HDMI, or s-video. Thanks everyone!|||Compaq 4400US has 200 watt power supply. 250 watt is minimum recommended for FX 5200.

GeForce FX 5200 chips do not have support for the HDTV

DVI is the abbreviation of Digital Visual Interface, while HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. DVI and HDMI are more similar than different. There are a very few differences between them. DVI is an interface, which is used for providing high quality image. In DVI, the pixels are transmitted as binary data, and the brightness is set accordingly. Since the quality provided by HDMI is good, many people opt HDMI over S Video, SCART, D Terminal and many more. The signals for HDMI and DVI are compatible with each other, hence no signal conversion is required when using a DVI adapter for HDMI, and vice versa; also there is no loss of data when a DVI adapter is used for HDMI or vice versa. HDMI is said to be a successor of DVI, hence HDMI is better than DVI in many aspects, like the transfer rate of HDMI is more than DVI. Both DVI and HDMI transfer signals, use separate red, green and blue components and the components are transferred through different data channels. HDMI is derived from the protocol used by DVI, hence the working and encoding scheme for both the technologies are same.

source: buzzle.com|||DVI and HDMI will display the EXACT same video format (Full 1080p HD). The main difference is that HDMI can also transmit HD audio through the same cable, If you are using the LCD for video ONLY then DVI and HDMI would be identical at the moment.

Also, Buy the Radeon card. The 48xx series GPU is much better for gaming then the 98xx Series nVidia.

It really hurts my ego to admit that ATI won this round against nVidia, but it's the truth =(|||most newer cards comes with an adaptor from DVI to HDMI

Video card for hp s3500f?

My stock video card went bad on my hp s3500f desktop pc. well im not sure what to buy , since computer is kinda old , im nore what kind of video card it can handle , I want something better with atleast 512 and preferably HDMI port for my tv. if somebody can point me in the right direction that would be great.|||You will need to check but I did a little searching and found that the HP 3500f is a slime line desktop and comes with only a 160watt power supply stock. Before you do any additions in the graphics department you'll have to get a power supply that's at least 300watts+ most graphics cards need at least 300watts especially 512MB PCI-E cards.

The only power supply I found that fit you desktop was this 300w one that costs $79.99

http://www.directron.com/mfx9300.html?gs…

Also since your computer is a slimline computer you need a low-profile graphics card a decent one with HDMI and low power requirements is this price: $39.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

If you have a little more money to spend this one is even better price: $49.99

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||You have a PCI-E slot this card will work nicely.

Will this PC and Video Card be compatible?

I'm using a Dell Inspiron 530s desktop. It's very slim and I'm shopping for a stronger video card which is where the problem arises... I have one (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATI-HD4350-DVI-HDMI-PCI-E-LOW-PROFILE-GRAPHICS-CARD_W0QQitemZ250493236632QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW?hash=item3a528f7598) in mind but I'm worried it won't fit.

Anyone able to help?|||It will fit. However, the 4350 is worthless for anything other than word processing, e-mail, web surfing and movie clips. It's far too slow for games.

The best low-profile card for slim cases is the Radeon 4650. If your budget is really tight or you can't find a low-profile 4650, then a low-profile 4550 might do in a pinch.|||It should go as it is PCI-E

I need help finding the BEST video card for my new PC.?

I am building from the ground up the ultimate PC with everything and anything that may be needed or called upon because I am definitely a computer freak and need the best processing power and RAM available to compute and do really what i need. With Price set aside i've decided on just about everything from the brand to the model of component and i've made no stops or second bests when it comes to this new PC i'm building. Liquid Cooling system, Maxed Out RAM, Intel i7 Extreme Edition processor. the Works basically, but one of the few things that i've been stuck against in finding is the best Video Card. I haven't yet decided upon the Mother Board i want but of course it needs to be compatible with my video card and what not but after searching a bit among video cards i've found a few options and to be completely honest I Don't know Much when it comes to video cards and that's where I need help... I have already planned for the monitor to be replaced with a 40in LG 2X HDMI HDTV 1080p wide screen television and what not. Therefore i want to get the absolute most out of the TV i already have and want the ultimate in video processing. Not only for multimedia, video editting, game play, and online video gaming, but also for movies, media and what not. I've found a few video cards and need help picking among them my first option is an XFX FeForce 8800 GTX video card with a mear 768 MB of memory and i planned on getting an extra large case to accomidate it along with a second one of the same type. Or an EVGA GeForce GTX 295 CO-OP Hydro Copper video Card housing 1792 MB of memory. This card while having more memory does take up less space and requires a smaller power supply but according to reviews the XFX model seems to be the favorite and for about a hundred or so dollars more brand new. I definitly need help finding the best Video Card availbe and pretending that price is not an object could someone please shed some light on the pros and cons of different video cards and what would pull out as the Best for not only Gaming but everyday use? Whether it be the XFX GeForce 8800GTX or the EVGA GeForce GTX 295. If you know of any other video card that is better please let me know and please provide a link to where i can purchase it and also about it's stats and what-not. Any other information about what you would reccommend for "The Dream Computer" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for everything.|||Please dont put all info. in one go. It only deters ppl. from answering questions. I hav first hand experience on that.

So u want a maxed out gaming rig i suppose?

I suggest intel skulltrail motherboard. It supports 2 intel core 2 extremes ie 8 cores.

Further it can accomodate ati radeon and nvidia graphics cards which you can run side by side.

And i think it also supports sli and crossfire.

If you want your own computer config. I suggest you go by gtx 295. It would definitely be better than 8800 gtx.

Only if i had such a pc......|||Quad performs better than i7 when you only use 1 GPU, but performs better than quad when the PC have multi GPU, so if you can buy 2 GTX 295 to quad sli, then go ahead and buy it, but make sure the mobo support quad sli and have sufficient power supply(1000 watt)|||Go to Newegg.com for all your computer building needs. Best price, customer service, etc.

Look up their video card and you will see consumer reviews that will tell you all the ins and outs of mother boards, video cards and TVs.

As for the LG TV for your monitor, you want 2ms response time. LG has the new 240hz LCDs that have that. They are sweet and perfect for your applications.|||Get the ATI 4870X2 and if moneys not an issue get two of them. they kill them two you mentioned above. 8800gtx is kinda old now and this outperforms the GTX 295 take a look at what the people say|||Tri-SLI with three Geforce 285s.

not two 295s, cause the quad SLI there always stumbles over the number of separate cards, which the driver is not really great at handling...

so use three 285s, preferably with the EVGA X58 or ASUS P6T7 WS SUPERCOMPUTER or ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution.
